Peas and Italian ham

Delicious side dish in winter, don't forget peas and freeze them in your vegetable garden!
Ingredients:
  • 50 ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 50 grams Italian ham, coarsely chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 500 grams of fresh peas (frozen is also possible)
  • Sea salt and black pepper
Method:
  • Heat the oil in a 11" pot over medium heat. Add the Italian ham pieces and the onion and cook until the onions are soft and the ham is crispy (+/- 6-8 minutes).
  • Add the peas and 1 tablespoon of water to the onions and ham. Bring to the boil and shake regularly (with lid) for 3 minutes. Finish with pepper and a little salt (the ham already gives a salty taste).
