Tips and care

• Planting: soak the tubers in a bowl of lukewarm water for approximately 12 hours before planting so they can hydrate. Plant them in spring (March to May) for summer blooms, or in autumn (September to October) for early spring blooms. Choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil and plant them about 5 cm deep.

• Maintenance: water regularly during growth and bud formation, but ensure the soil does not stay too wet. Feel free to pick flowers regularly for a vase; this encourages the plant to produce new buds.

• Overwintering: Anemone coronaria is moderately hardy. If planting in autumn, cover the soil well with a layer of leaves, straw, or compost during cold winters.

• Garden or pots: very versatile and highly suitable for borders, rock gardens, and as a colorful filler in decorative pots and balcony boxes.
