Tips and care

• Planting: choose a sunny to lightly shaded spot with nutritious, well-draining soil. Plant the bulbs in spring or autumn at a depth of about 15 to 20 cm.

• Maintenance: give plenty of water during the active growth phase and some extra nutrition if necessary. Due to their enormous height, support in a very windy location may be useful.

• Overwintering: excellent winter hardiness in the ground. Let the stems die back completely after the season so that the bulbs can store reserve food for the following year.

• Open ground or pots: because of its impressive height and size, 'Anastasia' looks best in the open ground at the back of the border.
