Flower mixture 'Elegance' BIO

Flower mixture 'Elegance' consists of various varieties with smaller flowers and a fine leaf structure. With this you create a colorful garden and a rich insect life. One bag is for approximately 10 m2, and the planting distance is 30x1 cm.

'Elegance' lives up to its name: this annual flower mixture contains varieties with smaller flowers and a fine leaf structure. Pure elegance that is ideal for flower meadows and flower ribbons in public green spaces. The plants contribute to a rich insect life for months due to the successive flowering periods. People can enjoy them for just as long. With 20 grams of seed, a flower explosion of at least ten square meters can be realized.

The colours white, pink, purple and blue in the flower mixture 'Elegance' go together with a touch of orange. The early bloomers such as phacelia, cow parsley, are followed by coriander, marigold, dill and cornflower. Cosmea ensures a very long flowering until deep into the autumn. The mixture reaches a height of approximately 1 metre; the Cosmea playfully rises above that in the autumn.

Sowing: Flower mixture 'Elegance' can be sown from the second half of April up to and including the longest day in June (21 June).
After about four weeks it is wise to remove coarse weeds between the rows. This can be done as long as you can still walk between the rows.

Saving seeds

Store seeds in a cool, dry and dark place, such as a sealed box in a cupboard. Pay attention to the expiration date on the packaging and use them before that time. If the packaging has been opened, make sure it is sealed properly and check the germination capacity before use.

You can easily test the germination capacity of seeds with a germination test :

  1. Place a few seeds (for example 10) on a damp piece of kitchen paper.
  2. Fold the paper towel closed and place it in a plastic bag or place it in a sealed container.
  3. Place it in a warm place, such as on the windowsill.
  4. After a few days, check to see if the seeds have started to germinate.
