Delphinium consolida (larkspur) - 'Fancy Belladonna'
Fancy Belladonna is a spectacular annual larkspur with elegant, slender flower spikes full of soft blue flowers. This beautiful plant adds height and colour to your garden and creates a dramatic effect in borders and bouquets. The airy flowering habit creates a playful look, while the subtle blue tones fit into almost any colour scheme. Ideal for the cutting garden, where it combines perfectly with other summer flowers.
Sowing instructions:
This annual delphinium can be a bit challenging to germinate, as the seeds need a cold period (stratification) before they germinate. If you want to sow indoors, it is best to store the seeds in the freezer for a few days. Then sprinkle them lightly over the soil, as Delphinium is a light germinator. Press the seeds gently so that they make good contact with the soil. Keep the soil moist but avoid making it too wet. It can take a while for the first seeds to germinate, so patience is important.
