White grape 'Witte van der Laan' – 2-litre pot

The 'Witte van der Laan' is a very well-known variety that is commonly found in our region. The yellow-green fruits are sweet and juicy and are perfect for multiple purposes: eating fresh, grape juice, wine, or raisins. The plant is self-pollinating and therefore does not need another grape plant to produce fruit. A versatile and reliable climber that thrives excellently in our climate.

The 'Vroege van der Laan' is one of the best-ripening and tastiest white grapes in the Belgian-Dutch climate. The plant is hardy and attracts beneficial pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Thanks to its vigorous growth, it is ideal for training against a wall, pergola, or trellis and provides a rich harvest every year.

Tips and care:

• Planting: preferably plant in spring in a warm, sunny, and sheltered spot. The plant thrives best in neutral to lime-rich, clay-like soil in a south-facing location for optimal ripening of the fruits.
• Support: guide the grapevine along a pergola, wall, or trellis to provide it with good support. The plant can reach several meters in height and can be trained into various shapes.
• Pruning: leave only the strong shoots and prune weak and misshapen branches completely. Prune into the desired shape above the buds at the end of January. In late summer, remove the leaves around the bunches for better ripening.
• Nutrition: use a compound organic fertilizer that gradually releases its nutrients over a long period. Fertilize in March/April.
• Watering: water regularly during the growing season in spring and summer. Avoid waterlogging at the roots.

TIP: The fruits can be used to make grape juice, wine, raisins, and grape seed oil, or simply consumed fresh. For the best harvest, plant the grape preferably against a south-facing wall for maximum warmth and sun!
