The pack contains the female 'Golden Kiwi' and the vigorous male pollinator 'Atlas'. 'Golden Kiwi' is a highly popular climbing plant known for its golden-yellow flesh, less fuzzy skin, and intensely sweet flavor with tropical notes of mango and passion fruit. The male 'Atlas' does not bear fruit itself, but in spring it produces an abundance of pollen-rich flowers that are essential for optimal fertilization and maximum fruit set of the female plant.

Delicious to eat straight out of the skin with a spoon, but also a tropical addition to fruit salads, smoothies, and desserts. Together, these vigorous climbers with their large, heart-shaped leaves form a beautiful green cover for your pergola, fence, or south-facing walls.

Tips and care:

• Planting: September to March; planting later is possible, but keep in mind that you will need to provide extra water during warm weather as the roots are not yet well established. Plant both climbing plants a short distance apart (e.g., on the same fence or pergola) so that bees can easily transfer the pollen.
• Pruning: for 'Golden Kiwi', prune back the fruit-bearing branches in late winter (January/February) and thin out wild vines in the summer. Lightly prune the male 'Atlas' just after flowering to keep it in good shape.
• Open ground or pots: you can grow all small fruits in pots; the larger the pot, the better they will perform. They will always grow better and produce more fruit in open ground.
  

TIP: After picking in autumn, you can let the Golden Kiwis ripen a little further in a bowl with a ripe banana or apple. This will make them super juicy and sweet within a few days!
