General information
Divico is a new Swiss grape variety developed by Agroscope. It is a particularly resilient variety with high natural resistance to mildew, powdery mildew, and botrytis. Thanks to the loose clusters, the sweet, blue grapes are less susceptible to fungal diseases. Divico is suitable as both a wine and a table grape and grows well on a pergola, trellis, or standard. The plant has average vigor and good fruit set.

Grape
Divico forms loose clusters of sweet, blue grapes. The bunches cling firmly to the plant, which also benefits their quality after a longer ripening period.

Wine
Divico grapes ripen late but retain their quality until harvest thanks to their loose structure and firm cluster attachment. The wines have a rich color, good tannin structure, and an interesting aromatic profile. Divico is suitable for both varietal wines and blends and promises a bright future in natural and organic viticulture.

Cultivation advice
Divico grows moderately vigorously and branches well. Its compact habit and high resilience make this grape ideal for organic gardens, pergolas, and small vineyards. Thanks to its strong cluster attachment, the grapes can remain on the vine longer to achieve high sugar levels.

Preparing the vine
The plant grows steadily and produces a consistent yield. It has good fruit set, and produces few double shoots. Divico requires little maintenance and is also suitable for less experienced gardeners.

Ground preparation

• On calcareous soil: improve with lava grit
• On sandy soil: improve with bentonite and lava flour

Planting out
Soak your vine in a bucket of water for 24 hours. This allows it to soak up some water before planting.

Plant between May 1st and 15th. Use a soil auger or spade to dig a planting hole 10 cm in diameter and 30 cm deep. Insert the graft just above the ground, so that the vine protrudes 5 to 10 cm above the ground.
