'Leskovackz' is a productive quince that produces medium-sized, aromatic fruits in October with a strongly sweet-fruity scent and firm flesh. The low-stem variety grows compactly (approx. 2–3 m), making it suitable for smaller gardens or pots. The fruits are ideal for use in jams, compotes, juices, and desserts, as they are too hard and acidic when raw. It grows best in nutritious, well-draining soil in a sunny spot and provides a rich harvest soon after planting.

What is a low-stem tree?
Low-stem means the tree is grafted onto a slow-growing rootstock, causing the trees to bear fruit faster and stay shorter. The advantages are that they are suitable for smaller (vegetable) gardens, allowing you to grow more varieties in the same space. It is also convenient as you can harvest easily, safely, and without a long ladder.

Tips and care:

• Planting: because the trees are supplied in pots, they can be planted all year round. Preferably plant in a sunny, sheltered spot in nutritious, humus-rich, and well-draining soil.
• Pruning: prune lightly in late spring or early summer. Quinces bear fruit on short shoots, so keep the crown open for sufficient sunlight.
• Nutrition: apply organic fertilizer and optionally some compost around the base of the tree in the spring.
• Open ground or pots: they will always grow better and produce more fruit in open ground.
• Support: provide support with a stake and tree tie for the first year.
  

TIP: Leave the quinces on the tree for as long as possible until they turn bright yellow and start to smell wonderful! Let them rest at room temperature for a few days after picking; the fragrance that is released will fill the entire room.
