Organic certified 'Shakespeare' onion sets - 250 gram bag

A British-bred variety for autumn planting that produces high yields of good-sized, brown-skinned onions with excellent skin quality and storage properties. Good resistance to bolting when autumn planted. A 250-gram bag contains 60-65 onion sets with a size of 14-21 mm.

• Planting period: From September to October
  
• Planting distance: Plant in rows 30 cm apart with 10 cm between plants.
• Planting depth: Plant the onion so the tip is just level with the surface in sandy soil and plant them slightly higher in clay soil (with the tip and 0.5 cm of the onion exposed). Plant in the current year's potato bed in loose, well-drained soil. Well-rotted compost is fine, but avoid fresh manure.
• Harvest: June-July
