Parsley 'Gigante d'Italia' is used in many dishes. Parsley can be pre-sown in March, but the germination period is long (1-2 weeks). Direct sowing in April-June is also possible. One bag is for approximately 4 m2, and the planting distance is 20x2 cm.

Parsley 'Gigante d'Italia' promotes digestion and is used in many dishes. Parsley is an annual plant and regrowth occurs continuously.
Annual crop. Parsley can be pre-sown in March, but the germination period is then long (approx. 1-2 weeks). Germination is considerably faster at higher soil temperatures. Direct sowing in April-June is also possible. Maintain a row distance of 20 cm and thin out the row to 2 cm. Because regrowth occurs continuously, you can cut from the same plants for months. The fresh leaves can be used in various dishes.

Saving seeds

Store seeds in a cool, dry and dark place, such as a sealed box in a cupboard. Pay attention to the expiration date on the packaging and use them before that time. If the packaging has been opened, make sure it is sealed properly and check the germination capacity before use.

You can easily test the germination capacity of seeds with a germination test :

  1. Place a few seeds (for example 10) on a damp piece of kitchen paper.
  2. Fold the paper towel closed and place it in a plastic bag or place it in a sealed container.
  3. Place it in a warm place, such as on the windowsill.
  4. After a few days, check to see if the seeds have started to germinate.
