Purple Sweet Potato Plants 'Sakura' – 5 Plugs
This set contains five young plug plants of the sweet potato variety Sakura. This Japanese variety is recognizable by its purple-red skin and light purple to white flesh. Sakura has a somewhat firmer structure and a mildly sweet, nutty flavor, ideal for both savory and sweet dishes.
Planting out can start in mid-May, as soon as the risk of night frost has passed. Choose a warm, sunny spot with loose, well-drained soil. Leave enough space between the plants (about 30–40 cm) so that they can develop well. Regular watering is important, especially in dry weather, but avoid wet feet. Keeping weed-free promotes healthy growth. East just before the first frost.
