'Longor' shallot sets - 250 gram bag

The Longor shallot, often known as the French shallot, is known for its pink color and pungent flavor, similar to the red shallot. This shallot thrives in all types of soil, with a preference for humus-rich sandy and loamy soils that are not too wet. Fertilization can be done in the same way as for onions. The Longor shallot is ideal for those looking for shallots with a distinct flavor and good growth results.

• Planting period: September to October
  
• Planting distance: plant in rows 30 cm apart with 15 cm between the plants.
• Planting depth: plant the shallot so the tip just pokes through in sandy soil, and plant them slightly higher in clay soil (with the tip and 0.5 cm of the shallot above the surface). Plant them in this year's potato bed in loose, well-drained soil. Aged compost is fine; avoid fresh manure.
• Harvest: July to August
