The Yuzu is a hardy citrus tree that can withstand cold down to -10°C and features large thorns. This self-pollinating tree grows to 2-3 metres when planted in open ground, but is also well-suited to being kept in a pot, where it will remain smaller. Yuzu is a highly sought-after Japanese citrus variety, famous among Michelin-starred chefs for its unique, aromatic peel that has notes of mandarin, lime, and a characteristic Yuzu scent.

The fruits resemble a round, somewhat rough lemon and can be picked yellow/orange for a complex aroma, or green for more zest. Yuzu is used in a wide range of dishes, from sushi to desserts, and can also be turned into marmalade or candied peel.

Please note: this is not a grafted plant. Therefore, this Yuzu is slightly less frost-resistant than the other Yuzu we sell, which is grafted. Protect the plant during severe and prolonged frost. However, this plant has been kept in our greenhouse for years during the winter without any issues.
