The sweet potato variety Bonita has a cream-coloured skin and light yellow to white flesh. Bonita is known for its soft, sweet flavour and relatively short growing time. The structure is fine and remains firm when cooked, which makes the tubers suitable for baking, steaming and roasting, among other things.
Planting out can start in mid-May, as soon as the risk of night frost has passed. Choose a warm, sunny spot with loose, well-drained soil. Leave enough space between the plants (about 30–40 cm) so that they can develop well. Regular watering is important, especially in dry weather, but avoid wet feet. Keeping weed-free promotes healthy growth. East just before the first frost.
