Onion 'Sturon' BIO

Sturon is a popular and versatile plant onion variety, known for its firm, round onions with a golden yellow skin. This onion has a mild, aromatic flavour and is extremely suitable for various applications in the kitchen, from raw in salads to processed in stews and soups.

Sturon is popular with growers for its excellent yield and long storage life, which keeps the onions fresh for months. It is a robust and reliable variety, ideal for both novice and experienced gardeners who value quality and sustainability.

  •  Planting period : From March to April
  •  Planting distance : Plant them in rows 30 cm apart and 10 cm between the plants.
  •  Planting depth : Plant the onion so that the top is just above in sandy soil and plant them slightly higher in clay soil (with the top and 0.5 cm of the onion above). Plant them in the current year's potato bed in loose, well-drained soil. Tarred compost is fine, avoid fresh manure.
  •  Harvest : July to August
