Harvesting and storing : Harvest early, like regular beans, when the seeds are as thick as the bean (so not yet protruding). Regular harvest allows the fruit to mature and become edible beans without the pod. The pods are then 15 to 20 cm long. Pick from the bottom up. Pick regularly to encourage the plant to continue producing. Harvest by twisting the stems away from the plant. After harvesting, throw the foliage onto the compost heap. The foliage is bursting with nitrogen for your plants next year. Be sure to leave the plant's roots in the soil, as they are full of nitrogen.
