Organically certified shallot 'Red Sun' - 250 gram bag

Red Sun is a shallot with reddish-brown skin and red flesh. It has a good yield and stores very well, provided it is kept dry. Red Sun can be planted early, as there is little risk of bolting. Red Sun has an excellent flavor and is also very suitable for salads.

  •  Planting period : March to April
  •  Planting distance : plant them in rows 30 cm apart and 15 cm between the plants.
  •  Planting depth : Plant the shallot so that the tip just emerges in sandy soil, and plant them slightly higher in clay soil (with the tip and 0.5 cm of the shallot remaining above). Plant them in the current year's potato bed in loose, well-drained soil. Tarred compost is fine; avoid fresh manure.
  •  Harvest : July to August
