Rhubarb tuber ('Rheum rhabarbarum 'Raspberry Red') - 1 bare root tuber
The 'Framberry Red' rhubarb is a classic and reliable variety, beloved for its dark red, sturdy stalks and fresh, tart flavor. This variety is known for its high yield and robust growth. The stalks are slightly more fibrous than some modern varieties, but produce an intense rhubarb flavor that is particularly well-suited for compotes, jams, pastries, and other dishes.
'Raspberry Red' is a very vigorous grower with a long harvest period, usually from spring to early summer. It thrives in a sunny to partially shaded location in fertile, well-drained soil. Thanks to its excellent winter hardiness, it returns vigorously every year, making it a staple in the vegetable garden.

Collaboration between the Small Farm Foundation and Pickers
🌱 This product was selected by Hester from the De Kleine Boerderij foundation, a social food garden in Fochteloo where pesticide-free vegetables are grown for low-income households. People can harvest their own produce and learn about healthy eating, neighbors can connect, and vegetables are distributed through the local food bank and the Salvation Army. The garden also provides tools for making healthy, budget-friendly meals with these vegetables, and children in the garden learn where their food comes from. For every order, we contribute €1.50 to the garden. You can read more about this initiative here .
