Bell pepper seed

Mild, yet full of flavor and texture, bell peppers are part of the gardener’s “must-haves.” Bell peppers are eaten all over the world and play a major role in American, Eastern European, and Mediterranean cuisine. The fruit is extremely versatile in the kitchen, where it can be fried, grilled, stuffed, and used raw in salads. The only thing that matters is that they don’t have any heat. If they do, even a tiny bit, then they’re peppers. Here you’ll find different types of pepper seeds for bell peppers, pointed peppers, and snack peppers.

Buy pepper seeds: Colour and flavour from your own garden

Buying bell pepper seeds is the first step toward a colorful and flavorful harvest. Whether you prefer crunchy snack peppers, sweet pointed peppers, or firm bell peppers, growing your own is surprisingly easy. All you need is some warmth, a little patience, and, of course, good seeds.

Why grow your own peppers?

Bell peppers from your own garden simply taste better. Period. They're fresher, sweeter, and richer in flavor than what you find in the store. Plus, you know exactly what you're eating. No unnecessary processing, just pure nature – straight from your balcony, greenhouse, or vegetable patch to your plate.

Growing your own bell peppers is simply fun. You watch the plants grow, bloom, and bear fruit. And for children? It's a fun and educational experience. The plants are beautiful to look at and will reward you richly with a little attention.

What types of pepper seeds are there?

At Plukkers, you'll find a selection of organic pepper seeds, carefully selected for flavor, yield, and ease of use. Each variety has its own unique charm:

Snack peppers

These minis are ideal as a snack or for a lunchbox. The plants are compact and produce a large number of small, sweet fruits. You eat them straight from the plant – crunchy, fresh, and without peeling problems.

Pointed peppers

Long, slender, and full of flavor, pointed peppers are deliciously sweet and easy to digest. Perfect for grilling, stuffing, or simply eating raw. Their tender skin makes them a favorite among young and old.

Bell peppers

A classic in the kitchen. Deliciously firm, with a fresh bite. Ideal for stir-frying, stewing, or your favorite pasta sauce. These plants thrive in a greenhouse or a sheltered spot in the ground.

How do you sow pepper seeds?

Bell peppers love warmth. Sow them indoors from February onwards in pots with airy soil. Place them in a warm spot – around 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. A propagator or a sunny windowsill works perfectly.

Once the seedlings are a bit bigger, with three or four true leaves, you can prick them out. Then plant them out in pots, a greenhouse, or in the ground as soon as the risk of night frost has passed.

Some practical tips

  • Water regularly, but avoid wet feet
  • Place them in a bright spot – peppers are sun worshippers
  • Give some food weekly for extra strong plants
  • Remove the first flowers for better growth
  • Harvest when the pepper feels firm and has a nice color.

Growing peppers in pots or greenhouses

Don't have a vegetable garden? No problem. Bell peppers thrive in pots, on a patio, or balcony. Use a large pot (at least 10 liters), fill it with good potting soil, and water and feed regularly. In a greenhouse, your plant will grow faster and remain productive longer.
