Iceberg lettuce 'Saladin' is an iceberg lettuce with a medium to large head. The leaf is thick and crispy. Saladin is not susceptible to bolting, but is less suitable for autumn cultivation. Growing iceberg lettuce is slightly more difficult than growing other varieties, but that can also be a challenge. Iceberg lettuce is on average slightly sweeter. Iceberg lettuce has a longer growing period (2 weeks) than other types of lettuce. Iceberg lettuce requires good fertilisation and sufficient moisture. If you want to eat lettuce every week, it must be sown/planted regularly. In the open ground, sowing can start from April. A common planting distance is 30x30 cm. By planting some of the lettuce closer together and harvesting earlier, you can make do with 1 sowing every 3 to 4 weeks. TIP: also suitable as baby leaf (sowing period: May-August)!
