Collaboration with the Small Farm Foundation
At Plukkers, we believe that good food connects people. That's why we collaborate with the De Kleine Boerderij Foundation in Fochteloo, where Hester is responsible for day-to-day operations.
It's a social food garden where pesticide-free vegetables are grown for low-income households. The garden is a place where food, health, and community come together. Vegetables are shared for and with people who need them, distributed through the local food bank and the Salvation Army, and people come and harvest them themselves .
De Kleine Boerderij is also a learning environment where visitors learn practical tools to prepare healthy, budget-friendly meals , and where children discover where their food comes from. It's a garden where you don't just harvest, you participate.
Why this collaboration?
The values of De Kleine Boerderij align seamlessly with those of Plukkers: doing it yourself, sharing knowledge, and caring for each other. Access to healthy food shouldn't depend on your income. By working together, we contribute to a place where people learn about healthy eating, children discover where food comes from, and neighbors connect. Together, we make this possible.
How we support the foundation

Fixed contribution products
Some of the products in our shop have been selected in collaboration with De Kleine Boerderij. For every product sold, we donate a fixed amount to the food garden.

Round up at checkout
When completing their order, customers can choose to round up their total. For example, if their order is €34.55, you can round up to €35. The difference goes entirely to the De Kleine Boerderij Foundation.

Promotion weeks or weekends
Occasionally, we organize a special week or weekend where we donate a fixed amount to De Kleine Boerderij for each order. Customers don't have to do anything extra for this. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed!
