Jostaberry (Ribes nidigrolaria) ORGANIC - 2 liter pot

Jostaberry is a productive, thornless shrub. The plant produces abundant dark berries with the sweetness of a gooseberry and the deep, complex flavor of a blackcurrant. It grows to approximately 1.5–2 m tall, blooms with white flowers in spring, and produces a bountiful harvest from mid-July to August. It grows best in fertile, humus-rich soil in a sunny to partially shaded location.

Tips and care:

• Planting: September to March, later is also possible, but keep in mind that you'll need to provide extra water in warm weather as the roots aren't yet well established. It grows as a shrub and therefore doesn't require support.
• Pruning : Pruning should be done in the fall. The plants don't require much pruning, especially not in the first few years. However, if the plant becomes too large or yields decline, some pruning may be necessary.
• Open ground or pots: you can grow all soft fruit in pots; the larger the pot, the better they will do. They will always grow better and produce more fruit in the open ground.
