Bell pepper 'Jubilandska' BIO

Bell pepper 'Jubilandska' is a low-growing pepper variety with elongated fruits. In a young stage the fruits are still green, but turn red when ripe. 'Jubilandska' has a sweet taste. One bag is for approximately 8m2, and the planting distance is 50x50 cm.

Bell pepper 'Jubilandska' is a sweet pepper with elongated fruits. The fruits are green when young and turn red when ripe. Jubilanska is a low-growing variety that does not require pruning.

Grow in a greenhouse (so not 'under glass or under raised flat glass'). Sow in a seed tray in March-April and grow indoors at a minimum temperature of 20°C; the optimum germination temperature is 25°C. Germination takes quite a long time. Prick out the plants in pots and plant the plants out at the end of April-May at 50 x 50 cm (for growth the soil temperature must be at least 13°C). Depending on the growing conditions you can harvest in the period July - October. Ensure above-average fertilization.

Tip for greenhouse cultivation: Do not plant out peppers until the second half/end of April.

Saving seeds

Store seeds in a cool, dry and dark place, such as a sealed box in a cupboard. Pay attention to the expiration date on the packaging and use them before that time. If the packaging has been opened, make sure it is sealed properly and check the germination capacity before use.

You can easily test the germination capacity of seeds with a germination test :

  1. Place a few seeds (for example 10) on a damp piece of kitchen paper.
  2. Fold the paper towel closed and place it in a plastic bag or place it in a sealed container.
  3. Place it in a warm place, such as on the windowsill.
  4. After a few days, check to see if the seeds have started to germinate.
