'Red Winter' onion sets - 250 grams (+- 70 pieces)

Red Winter is a strong red winter onion set that you plant in the autumn for an early harvest in June or July. This hardy variety produces beautiful red-skinned onions with a slightly spicy taste and a high yield. Ideal for making the most of your vegetable garden during the winter months as well.

  • Planting period: From September to October
  • Planting distance: Place them in rows 30 cm apart with 10 cm between the plants.
  • Planting depth: Plant the onion so the top is just visible in sandy soil and plant them slightly higher in clay soil (with the tip and another 0.5 cm of the onion above the surface). Plant them in this year's potato bed in loose, well-drained soil. Well-rotted compost is fine, avoid fresh manure.
  • Harvest: June-July
