Harvesting and storing : Corn is ready to harvest when the cobs are full and the green shoots at the top of the plant have turned yellow to brown. Check by pulling back the foliage and pressing a kernel with your thumb. If a milky fluid emerges, the corn is ready. The corn is at its best immediately after harvesting.
