These perennial onions first produce delicious leaves, just like regular onions. But instead of flowers, small, tasty onions form at the end of the stem. Ideal for confusing harmful insects!
Plant the seed onions in the fall in a pot and put them in the greenhouse, garden shed, or inside during the first winter when there is frost. In the spring you can plant them out in their final place. Provide some organic fertilizer pellets and vinassekali every year, and you have onions for life.
The onions you eventually harvest can be dried and planted in pots again in the winter, so you can easily propagate them. Leave about 60 cm of space around the plant.
