Currant or also currant is best known for its use in desserts. The transparent red berries have a sweet and subtly sour taste.

• Planting: September to March (not during severe frost), after that it is also possible but keep in mind that you will have to give extra water during warm weather because the roots are not yet well established. The currant grows as a shrub and therefore does not need support.
• Pruning : The currant should be pruned in the fall. However, the plants do not need much pruning, certainly not in the first few years. However, if the plant becomes too large or the yield decreases, some pruning may be necessary
• Open ground or pots: You can grow all soft fruit in pots, the bigger the pot the better they will do. They will always grow better and produce more fruit in the open ground.
