“February is the starting signal: sow indoors, and soon you’ll harvest outdoors.” Tom, Pickers

February Vegetable Garden Calendar — the days are getting longer, the light is returning, and you can already start preparing. Good news: despite the cold weather, you can start sowing in February. Indoors, you can start sowing some extra warmth-loving plants , in the greenhouse/greenhouse you can get early crops going, and outdoors you can plan robust crops or plant fruit. By starting now, you'll get a head start on the growing season. Early sowing can be especially advantageous for vegetables that require a long growing period. Use a sowing calendar to determine the sowing season and the optimal sowing time, so you know exactly when to start.

Note: Some sowing or gardening work can only be done in late February or later, depending on the weather. Rain in February shouldn't be a deterrent to starting preparations in the vegetable garden. However, one of the biggest disadvantages of sowing early is that the seedlings may not receive enough light, which can affect their growth.

Below you will find exactly what to sow in February , what to harvest in February and which perennials you can plant , step by step in Pickers style.

About the blogger

My name is Tom and I am co-owner of Plukkers.com. I am the father of two beautiful daughters and I have a wonderful wife. When I turned a bare spot in the lawn into a herb garden in 2014, I got a very special feeling inside. I immediately felt that it was not a whim but the start of an irresistible and fiery passion. I wanted to know everything and also wrote down what I learned on my website Moestuinweetjes, which is now called Plukkers.com. I also want to inspire other people to grow their own food. At my house in Wielsbeke is my dream garden with a greenhouse, vegetable garden and a hobby vineyard with 333 vines. In addition to wine, I also make delicious beer at home to occasionally celebrate life in moderation. I toast with you to an exciting, richly filled life under the motto: "Make it yourself!"
